Welcome to the Spalding County Animal Shelter home page. Here at Spalding County Animal Control, we have a vision—a vision we believe so strongly, we have made it our mission: Our first and foremost goal is to ensure the health and safety of the residents of Spalding County by controlling the population of unwanted animals—domesticated and otherwise. Second, we strongly believe in the humane treatment of all animals. We put our best foot forward to ensure all animals are provided with adequate food, freshwater, and shelter. We also protect animals that have been fought, maliciously killed, injured, and permanently disfigured. By responding to your calls and through investigative efforts, we are able to charge and convict many cruelty offenders.
Finally, we love to see our animals adopted. That is the most enjoyable part of our job. We have so many adoptable animals that want to go home and be a part of your family. Our adoptable animals are willing to give your family unconditional love and companionship. By adopting our animals to good homes, we have met the majority but not all of our goals.
In conclusion, our main job is animal control. It is our hope that you will see how much this entails. Without your help and your support our efforts are in vain. Please Spay and Neuter your animals!
How You Can Help
You can help reduce the number of unclaimed animals in shelters by taking the following steps:
- Make sure all your animals have ID tags so you will be contacted if they are lost.
- Get all of your dogs and cats spayed or neutered to reduce the number of unwanted pets.
- Adopt pets from shelters and rescue organizations.
- Offer financial support or supplies to shelters and rescue organizations.
Thank you for caring. Feel free to contact us for additional information.
